Job Summary:

Niagara Power Transformer Corp. is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical operations necessary in transformer assembly, tanking, and wiring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transformer Assembly: Perform mechanical operations necessary in transformer assembly, tanking, and wiring.
  • Print Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret prints, wiring schematics, and written instructions.
  • Electrical Device Operation: Usage of various electrical devices to test control wiring.
  • Lifting and Material Handling: Ability to lift 50 lbs. of material.
  • Work Environment: Work off of ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, and ability to work on high platforms and in tight spaces.
  • Tool Operation: Use tools such as saws, grinders, drill presses, etc.
  • Conduit Installation: Lay out, cut, thread, and bend conduit.
  • Welding and Soldering: Solder, braze, aluminum weld, and pass a test for certification.
  • Training and Certification: Candidate will be trained in the use of fork trucks and cranes.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Interpret and carry out verbal instructions from designated persons or supervisors.
  • Quality and Safety: Ability to meet the company's standards for safety, quality, and quantity of work.

Requirements:

  • Skills and Specialization: Must be able to safely work with power tools, follow directions, and read instructions.
  • Math Skills: Good math skills, able to read a tape measure, and take accurate measurements.
