Job Overview

Located in Long Island, NY, our pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead a dedicated team and oversee operations. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to step into a leadership role and make a significant impact on patient care in the LTC space.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a pharmacy team, including 10 full-time pharmacists, 5 per diem pharmacists, and 60 technicians.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations, including the preparation of sterile and non-sterile medications.
  • Oversee daily operations, including medication dispensing, inventory control, and compliance with regulations.
  • Streamline pharmacy workflow, adhering to established protocols and maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Manage the use of Frameworks/DocuTrack systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring excellent customer service and patient care.
  • Address escalated issues or concerns with a focus on resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain full compliance with BOP regulations, ensuring no challenges or violations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Manager/PIC role in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting.
  • Experience managing pharmacy teams and operations in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Frameworks/DocuTrack systems or similar pharmacy management software.
  • Experience handling sterile and non-sterile medications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with an adaptable schedule.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Environment
  • Average Prescription Volume: 30,000 prescriptions per week, with Mondays and Tuesdays being the busiest.
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 AM; Saturday/Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Open 365 days a year.
