Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Department Leadership, the Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, establishing objectives, planning, and executing treatment protocols. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of treatments and making recommendations for patient discharge. Additionally, the Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in facilitating communication regarding patient care among the healthcare team.

Educational Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Experience Requirements

  • Prior clinical experience in a hospital environment is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must hold a current Physical Therapy license in Vermont.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in communicating effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and patients/families.
  • Demonstrates ongoing education for patients and families through both verbal and written communication.
  • Skilled in extracting and interpreting clinical information through effective interviewing techniques.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving complex cases and potential discharge challenges.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows desktop applications and navigation.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $51.15 per hour.
