Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Ysleta Independent School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech-language assessments and therapy to students, as well as supervising TEA certified speech-language pathologists, interns, and assistants in speech-language pathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with federal and state laws, as well as district policies and procedures, in the referral, placement, and review process for speech-language services.
  • Administer diagnostic tests to identify students with speech and language disabilities.
  • Determine eligibility for speech-language services through review of referral information, observation, and assessment data.
  • Prepare evaluation reports in compliance with federal, state, and district requirements.
  • Provide therapy in the areas of articulation, fluency, language, voice, swallowing, augmentative and alternative communication techniques, and strategies.
  • Use technology to increase therapeutic effectiveness and maintain required documentation.
  • Supervise designated assistants, interns, and certified speech-language pathologists for School Health and Related Service (SHARS) implementation.
  • Comply with State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology rules.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Therapy.
  • Valid Texas license and a Speech Language Pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Prior experience in a public school or pediatric setting, preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Prolonged use of computers and occasional prolonged and irregular hours may be required. Valid Texas/New Mexico driver's license is also required.
