Senior Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Simulation Engineer to join our team at Freeform. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced simulation models to optimize our metal 3D printing process.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement physics-based models to simulate the metal 3D printing process
  • Collaborate with data scientists to develop data-driven models of the printing process
  • Simulate geometric deformation induced by the printing process
  • Work with software engineers to integrate simulation models into our software pipeline
  • Guide the integration of 3D meshing techniques into the simulation pipeline
  • Work with control engineers to deploy model-predictive control strategies
  • Generate and maintain documentation of designed algorithms and integrated systems
  • Integrate third-party software packages into our proprietary software
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in physics, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing physical simulation algorithms, or PhD in one of the above fields in lieu of professional experience
  • Expertise in computational solid mechanics
