Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant - Per Diem

Job Summary:

Preferred Health Care Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a per diem basis. As a CNA, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic nursing care to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with vital signs, intake and output, and specimen collection.
  • Care for clients' environment, including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment.
  • Recognize changes in clients' behavior and conditions, and report them to the nursing supervisor or director.
  • Assist with nutritional needs, including preparing, serving, and feeding clients.
  • Encourage clients to develop and maintain independence and highest level of functioning in all personal care.
  • Aid with the use of assistive devices in transferring, ambulating, eating, and dressing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of infection control in all client care to prevent the spread of diseases and infection.
  • Adhere to strict infection control guidelines, including hand washing and universal precautions.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • State certification/registration or graduation from a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
  • Knowledge and experience in bedside nursing.
  • Full use of hands, arms, legs, including washing, feeding, and dressing residents, writing notations, operating bed wheel locks, etc.
  • Ability to read thermometers and charts.
  • Basic reading and writing skills, ability to speak English.
  • Ability to push/pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 lbs., unassisted on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 lbs. unassisted).
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, move, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Willingness to work and attend education programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, their families, and other staff members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
