The Business Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving growth and adding value to the Industrial Product Group in America. This dynamic role demands a proactive, self-starting individual who is comfortable initiating contact with potential clients through various means, including cold calling and attending exhibitions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential markets, products, and clients.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and opportunities for growth.

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

  • Identify and reach out to potential clients through cold calling, emails, and other outreach methods.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to network and generate leads.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.

Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
  • Evaluate the viability of opportunities through detailed market analysis and feasibility studies.

Relationship Building:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Understand client needs and propose solutions that meet their requirements.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Business Development Managers, Product Managers, and other team members to develop strategies for market entry and product launch.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment and support for new business initiatives.

Sales and Negotiation:

  • Engage in negotiations with potential clients and partners to secure business deals.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all business development activities and client interactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on progress, challenges, and results for senior management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Lead Generation: Number of new leads generated through various outreach methods (cold calling, exhibitions, etc.).
  • New Business Opportunities: Number of viable new business opportunities identified and pursued.
  • Client Acquisition: Number of new clients acquired as a result of business development efforts.
  • Market Analysis: Quality and accuracy of market research and analysis reports.
  • Partnership Development: Number and quality of new partnerships and alliances formed.
  • Sales Revenue: Revenue generated from new business opportunities and client acquisitions.
  • Networking Activities: Number of industry events, exhibitions, and conferences attended.
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads converted into clients.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Feedback from new clients regarding satisfaction with services and solutions provided.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Contribution to the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives.

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A minor in Engineering or a technical field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development, product management, marketing, or a related role for at least 3 years.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (Salesforce).
  • Inquisitive mindset to identify problems to be solved.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and initiating contact with potential clients.
  • Experience in market research and analysis.
  • Travel: Up to 50%
  • Work Location: In person, Vandalia, Ohio
