Job Summary

The Sr Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing facility equipment in accordance with OEM specifications and prescribed preventative maintenance schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of technical manuals and blueprints, as well as the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules.
• Perform work in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
• Report quality and production concerns to supervisor.
• Conduct technician-level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Keep work environment neat and clean.
• Conduct technician-level repairs, installations, and upgrades on assigned equipment.
• Diagnose electrical systems and controls.
• Perform repairs using machine shop tools and practices.
• Monitor facility systems and take necessary corrective action.
• Assist with training and provide input to assist other team members and other department personnel.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of employees to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
• Mentor, coach, train, and develop team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical training and license preferred.
• 4+ years of previous maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
• Strong understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Work Environment

The Sr Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment may be high. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
