Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Salary Range: $30-40 per hour DOE

Role Summary: Under minimal supervision, the Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment and performing diagnostic radiology procedures in accordance with established protocols. This role involves evaluating images for quality and ensuring patient safety through proper radiation protection measures. The technologist must be adept at recognizing patient conditions that necessitate immediate attention and must be prepared to initiate life-saving interventions when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing the needs of patients and colleagues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Resolve issues proactively and handle patient concerns in a constructive manner.
  • Provide compassionate care and foster a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating both mobile and stationary radiographic equipment across various clinical settings.
  • Select appropriate technical factors based on the specific requirements of each imaging study and the individual patient's characteristics.
  • Process radiographic images accurately using automated systems while adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Position patients effectively for imaging, utilizing various support devices as necessary.
  • Exercise caution when handling patients with critical conditions to prevent further injury.
  • Understand the developmental needs of patients across all age groups and adjust care accordingly.
  • Continuously assess patient data to tailor imaging techniques to individual needs.
  • Provide special attention to the positioning and care of vulnerable populations, including infants and the elderly.
  • Never leave patients unattended during procedures, particularly those who are young or disoriented.

Education and Credentials:

  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Vietnamese is preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
  2. Proficiency in DEXA scans is required.
  3. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong computer skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on professionalism.
  6. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.
