Office Technician

Under the direct supervision of the Captain, AI, the Office Technician must possess a high degree of sensitivity and be aware of the consequences of errors related to both oral and written communication. This individual will be responsible for various aspects of clerical duties, including but not limited to, typing correspondences, memorandums, reports, staff transfer packages, Operational Procedures, and Post Orders. Additionally, they will assist with tracking staff evaluations, TIC dates, inmate appeals, institutional security operations, and other Custody/Program activities.
Special Requirements- The position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications. A valid typing certificate confirming the ability to meet the minimum typing speed must be obtained prior to being hired.
It is essential to note that confidential information, such as Social Security Numbers, birthdates, student identification numbers, driver's license numbers, basis of eligibility, examination results, LEAP status, marital status, and age, should be excluded or removed from any documents submitted for a job vacancy.
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
