Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary:

Circinus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead our data science team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data mining, and data cleansing, with expertise in developing complex queries using SQL and data manipulation using Python, R, SAS, Tableau, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead larger teams and mentor other scientists
* Apply pattern recognition techniques to large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets to automate and optimize data wrangling
* Develop interrogating databases with SQL to develop complex queries involving joins, subqueries, aggregation, indices, common table expressions, and query optimization/plans
* Develop with a focus on data manipulation and/or statistics, using one or more of these languages or applications: Python, R, SAS, Tableau, AWS
* Conduct, facilitate, and educate team on analyses, issues identification, risk assessment, and decision-making processes
* Design, develop, and implement best available models and solutions to agency challenges and requirements
* Prepare data, implement data models, and develop data management tools including databases to support end-to-end solutions

Requirements:

* Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline and 7 years of professional experience planning, conducting, and participating in high-level functional IT systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on large, complex support services projects OR a Bachelor's degree in the areas above and 10 years of experience
* Working knowledge of federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration
* Must be detail oriented and think logically
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
* Ability to keep up with new business and technical concepts
* Able to work with minimal supervision
* Strong team leadership and risk management
