About the Role

The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as its next President & CEO. This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving community of business-minded professionals and contribute to the growth and development of the local economy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Chamber team in achieving its mission and strategic objectives
  • Develop and implement effective economic development strategies to attract and retain businesses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the City of Wheaton, park district, library, school district, and County
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of the Chamber team
  • Manage the Chamber's budget and resources to ensure fiscal sustainability
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Strong marketing and/or fundraising background
  • Experience in hiring, managing, and developing teams of direct reports
  • Computer literacy and working familiarity with basic software applications
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior small business owner
  • Prior experience running a nonprofit organization
  • Event planning
  • Public speaking
