Job Title: Lecturer in Recreation Management

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer in Recreation Management to join our team at Appalachian State University's Beaver College of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching classes in Recreation Management, supporting one or more of the three RM Concentrations, and attending RM faculty meetings and other scheduled events.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach classes each Fall and Spring Semester (total of 24 credit hours per academic year)
  • Support one or more of the three RM Concentrations
  • Attend RM faculty meetings and other RM scheduled events
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in parks, recreation, or tourism management, or a related Master's degree
  • Professional work experience in parks, recreation, or recreational tourism settings
  • Higher education teaching experience in parks, recreation, or tourism management or a related area
About the Department:

The Recreation Management program at Appalachian State University is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) and has a faculty with backgrounds and experience in the entire spectrum of recreation. The program is located in the mountainous northwest corner of North Carolina, offering a unique opportunity to teach and conduct research in a diverse and scenic environment.
