Position Overview:

Tax Staff

Compensation Details:

Hourly Rate: Ranges from $26.40 to $33.00, depending on experience.

Annual earnings can be estimated based on approximately 2,300 hours worked annually.

Example Calculation:

2,080 hours (40 hours/week for 52 weeks) at $26.40 = $54,912.00 annually

220 overtime hours at time and a half ($39.60) = $8,712.00 annually

Total Estimated Annual Compensation based on 2,300 hours: $63,624.00 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt

Compensation differentials for this role are determined by education, experience, training, geographic location, and DWC's seniority and merit systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Supervisors to ensure adherence to tax regulations while optimizing tax liabilities.
  • Preparing necessary tax filings and documentation tailored to the specific needs of each client.
  • Gathering and conveying all required information for precise tax return preparation.
  • Employing advanced compliance software to enhance the efficiency of the tax preparation process.
  • Providing tax consulting services, recommending effective strategies to maximize client benefits and minimize tax obligations.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of state tax structures and filing requirements.
  • Composing clear and concise memos and correspondence.
  • Identifying potential tax challenges or opportunities during the compliance process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with tax laws and regulations is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
