We are seeking a highly qualified Periodontist to join our faculty team at the School of Dental Medicine, Stony Brook University. As a clinical assistant/associate professor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic teaching of all aspects of periodontics at the dental student and periodontics resident levels.
- Supporting the school's compliance with best practices and demonstrating growth in pedagogical skills and an aptitude for scholarship.
- Serving on select school committees and engaging in school governance.
- Participating in the school's affiliated faculty practice and contributing to the development of strong and supportive relationships with students, residents, faculty, and staff.
- DDS/DMD (or foreign equivalent) degree from a CODA-accredited dental school/college or international equivalent degree.
- Certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Periodontics.
- Board Certification, or in the process of achieving board eligibility, by the American Board of Periodontology.
- Possess, or be eligible, for a New York State Dental license.
- Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience at a CODA-accredited dental school/college or hospital setting.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MS and/or PhD in a related field, or foreign equivalent).
- A record of research and/or scholarly activity.
- Participation in organized dentistry at the local, state or national level.
