As a key member of our emergency medicine team, you will be responsible for training and mentoring veterinary technicians to develop the necessary skills and expertise for a successful career in animal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for veterinary technicians
  • Provide academic and practical training to technical staff
  • Support existing training objectives and create additional technical training as needed
  • Schedule and organize technical training meetings, classes, and practical coursework
  • Develop guidelines, SOPs, handouts, tests, and practical exercises for technical training purposes
  • Administer written and practical exams for technical training
  • Collaborate with department managers to provide feedback on technical performance
  • Assist in conducting interviews and skill assessments for potential new technical staff members
  • Participate in technical staff reviews to assess skills and provide clear performance expectations
  • Facilitate the integration of new technical employees into the hospital environment
Requirements
  • RVT certification and over 5+ years of technical experience in a large 24-hour emergency hospital setting
  • Previous experience in teaching or training within a veterinary context is highly desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of veterinary medicine, including clinical procedures, animal handling, and medical terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for education and mentorship
  • Organizational aptitude and attention to detail
