Order Selector

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Order Selector to join our team at Ben E. Keith Company. As an Order Selector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate selection and assembly of orders for our customers.

• Select and assemble orders from stock, verifying information and quantities to ensure accuracy.
• Operate a variety of RF scanners to track product movement and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and cherry pickers to efficiently and safely move products throughout the warehouse.
• Identify and select the correct product and quantity, and determine partial case items when necessary.
• Assemble all products on a pallet in a manner that enables transportation to customers while minimizing damage to boxes and product.
• Responsible for contacting Forklift Operators to replenish product in empty pick bins and locating supervisors to determine appropriate product substitutes when an item is out of stock.
• Check for product "in transit" at the end of each night and open and close boxes, bales, and other containers as needed.
• Pick and assemble orders from stock, transferring products to staging areas and loading onto trucks, verifying product against picking lists to ensure accuracy.
• Sort and place materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined slot assignments and rotate product to ensure "First In-First Out".
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to move product from one location to another and load and stack product on trucks in a stable and secure manner.
• Assist in warehouse maintenance and cleaning, and perform various inventory-related functions as necessary.
• Receive trucks on an as-needed basis and inspect received products for quality, proper rotation, and expiration dates.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
