GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the setup and ongoing maintenance of the folder/gluer machinery to manufacture pharmaceutical packaging including cartons, sleeves, and folders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identify and load the appropriate materials in preparation for machine operation.
2. Prepare the make-ready feeder, prefold, adhesive system, final fold, delivery, stacker, packing station, and inspection system.
3. Operate the folder/gluer according to customer requirements and established standard operating procedures.
4. Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
5. Maintain the machine and surrounding area in compliance with standard operating procedures.
6. Exhibit proficiency in various basic folds: straight-line, lock-bottom, inner partition, and fifth panels.
7. Provide assistance to press operators as necessary at the delivery end of the press.
8. Support small machine operators in the rewind section.
9. Operate folders in the insert area as required.
10. Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions is essential.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals is necessary.
• Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are required.
• Must meet or exceed minimum standards on a mechanical assessment or demonstrate mechanical aptitude through previous experience.
• Successful completion of a basic reading assessment is mandatory.
• Consistent attendance is crucial.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed is expected.
• Must pass color vision and color hue assessments.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required.
