Job Title: Skilled CNC Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Kaman Specialty Bearing in Bloomfield, CT.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machine tools to perform complex machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and check out programs on CNC machine tools.
  • Operate all standard axis (3 Lathe, 4 Mill) numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Work from CNC program, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions.
  • Provide technical supervision or training, and set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others.
  • Act as Team Leader in Team Leader's absence and demonstrate leadership.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Machining Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to prescribe an appropriate inspection method based on a wide range of GD&T callouts.
  • Proficient in use of shop math.
  • Provide technical supervision/training.
  • Work independently, no supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming and process issues.
  • Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish, as well as surface speed to material type, of most standard aerospace materials.
  • Familiar with operating of live tooling and sub-spindle machines and can set-up and operate as required.
  • Performs setups on multi-axis CNCs within established time standards.
