Becoming a Hawkers team member is about being part of a dynamic and adventurous team.

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals quickly, efficiently, and accurately as per Hawkers Asian Street Food standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing all food items to order, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
  • Communicating with team members and leadership regarding the status of orders and availability of product.
  • Washing and cleaning raw food products.
  • Proper maintenance, filtering, and usage of the fryers.
  • Rotating product according to "First In, First Out" to maintain shelf-life standards.
  • Logging and discarding all products not used by the end of the shift on the "use by" date.
  • Keeping par stocks at proper levels and minimizing waste of product.
  • Cleaning work area, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
  • Maintaining standards for food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, and safety.
  • Assisting in training new and part-time personnel in proper procedures and guidelines.
  • Cleaning food preparation and production areas as required.

Show flexibility in terms of your schedule and fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by leadership.

Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and be a team player, helping fellow team members at every opportunity.

Other duties may be assigned as the need arises.

Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification and understand and follow OSHA and HACCP compliance standards.

1-2 years' experience in a like or similar position is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach above shoulder level.

Must be comfortable working in an environment with exposure to extreme cold/hot temperatures.

Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
