Anesthesia Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Provider to join our team at Excela Health.
As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will be responsible for providing safe and quality anesthesia services within the scope of your practice. You will work closely with our medical staff to maintain clinical privileges and ensure that our patients receive exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will make pre-operative and post-operative assessments of patients scheduled for surgery, documenting your findings on the anesthesia record.
- You will induce and maintain acceptable levels of anesthesia for each patient, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
- You will continuously monitor the patient's status and adjust the anesthetic plan as needed to ensure their safety and comfort.
- You will take steps to minimize the risk of infection for our patients, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- You will interpret data about the patient's status to provide individualized patient care, using your expertise and experience to make informed decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- You will use time and equipment efficiently and effectively, prioritizing tasks and managing your workload to meet the demands of our busy anesthesia department.
- You will check all equipment to be used in the administration of anesthesia to ensure it is in safe working order, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- You will accept responsibility as a clinical instructor for students, mentoring and guiding them as they develop their skills and knowledge.
- You will immediately report any observations of abnormalities or questionable conditions to the MDA and the surgeon, ensuring prompt attention and action.
- You will support the mission and standards of Excela Health and our Anesthesia Department, upholding our values and commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
- You must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and an AANA-approved school of anesthesia.
- You must hold current licensure to practice in the State of Pennsylvania.
- You must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- You must have current PALS or ACLS certification.
- You must be an actively practicing CRNA with maintenance of continuing education credits necessary for re-certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- You will work in a fast-paced environment, often standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
- You may occasionally push/pull, bend, and reach above shoulder level.
- You will rarely climb stairs, kneel, and squat.
Physical Demands:
- Essential physical demands include transfer/push/pull patients, fine finger manipulation, and use of forceful hand grasp.
- Marginal physical demands include climbing stairs, squatting, and kneeling.
Sensory Requirements:
- Essential sensory requirements include hearing clearly, color vision, and seeing near-with acuity.
Over Shoulder Work:
- Essential over shoulder work includes reaching above shoulder level and pulling or pushing objects overhead.
Lifting:
- Essential lifting includes lifting 10-19 pounds from floor to standing position and waist to shoulder level.
Qualifications:
- You must hold a registered nurse or higher degree and a Master's degree or higher.
- You must hold licenses and certifications including Basic Life Support, CRNA, and be an equal opportunity employer/protected veterans/individuals with disabilities.
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per year, based on industry standards and regional factors.
