About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our capital projects, facility upgrades, and business development/expansion projects.

You will work closely with our Director of Electrical Engineering to develop and implement electrical design standards, specifications, and procedures. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from electrical design and engineering to commissioning and startup. You will have the chance to work with a talented team of engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results and drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review electrical system design documents, including one-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop scope of work for electrical AE firms and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
  • Plan design tasks to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Assume technical lead and subject matter expert roles for small to medium capital programs.
  • Electrical design scope includes system design, scope development, engineering calculations, specifications, and risk assessments for HV, MV systems.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on high voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Proficiency in developing and understanding one-line diagrams, DC control schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants, and electrical aspects of process plants.
  • Experience with all phases of a project, including preliminary conceptual system design, scoping, detailed design, equipment selection, equipment testing, and start-up problem resolution.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools, SEL Accelerator, etc.
