Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Underwriting Officer to join our team at Ryan Specialty. About the Role
  • Lead the development of innovative property and casualty products tailored to evolving customer needs.
  • Drive profitable growth through effective risk selection, premiums, and coverage, while implementing remediation strategies or correction within the scope of your own Underwriting Authority.
  • Partner with senior management to set clear objectives and strategies, manage annual budget processes, and assist in strategic matters relevant to the overall direction of the portfolio.
  • Establish strong relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to grow the P&L within assigned authority.
  • Develop insured-specific risk transfer programs, gather pertinent underwriting information, conduct due diligence for risk selection, and prepare and analyze pricing models.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or Business Administration.
  • 8+ years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting, with a proven track record of driving business growth and managing complex underwriting portfolios.
  • State P&C and/or surplus line license required, with CPCU or AU certifications preferred.
