Operating Room Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Magnet Medical in Atlanta, Georgia. As a key member of the surgical team, you will play a critical role in providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Preoperative Preparation: Assess patients' medical histories and current conditions to develop individualized preoperative care plans, verifying surgical consent and reviewing medications to ensure patients are physically and emotionally prepared for surgery.
- Intraoperative Nursing Care: Assist in preparing the operating room environment, ensuring sterile conditions and proper functioning of surgical equipment, collaborating with surgical team members to position patients, monitor vital signs, and assist with anesthesia induction and maintenance.
- Surgical Assistance and Instrumentation: Anticipate surgeons' needs during procedures, passing instruments, sutures, and supplies as required, maintaining sterile technique and adhering to aseptic practices throughout the surgical process.
- Patient Advocacy and Safety: Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing concerns and ensuring adherence to surgical protocols, monitoring patients' responses to surgical interventions and intervening promptly as needed.
- Postoperative Care and Monitoring: Transfer patients to post-anesthesia care units (PACUs) or recovery rooms, monitoring their vital signs and postoperative status, assessing surgical incisions, applying dressings, and managing drainage devices while ensuring patient comfort and pain management.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of intraoperative events, patient responses, and medications administered, communicating effectively with healthcare team members to provide updates on surgical progress and postoperative outcomes.
- Continuing Education and Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques, equipment, and nursing practices through continuing education and professional development activities, participating in quality improvement initiatives and surgical team debriefings to enhance patient care outcomes.
