Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Education Director will be responsible for leading our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of accreditation and provides students with a comprehensive education in physical therapy. This includes establishing and maintaining program accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), developing and maintaining a contemporary and evidence-based curriculum, and providing leadership and vision for the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain program accreditation from CAPTE, ensuring compliance with all expected standards and rules.
- Develop and maintain a contemporary and evidence-based DPT curriculum that meets accreditation standards and achieves program goals and expected outcomes.
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the DPT program, including active collaboration with Program Directors and leadership of other South College DPT Programs.
- Recruit faculty for the DPT program and provide mentorship and regular evaluations to ensure the success of our students.
- Plan and administrate the campus' DPT budget and financial resources to support the current and anticipated program needs.
Requirements:
- Earned terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
- At least 6 years of experience of full-time higher education experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE accredited entry-level physical therapist education program.
- Senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or higher), with experience consistent with South College system for designated faculty rank.
- Understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapy education.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee or the state of residence.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
