Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Deliver high-quality patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing emotional support to residents.
- Supervise Nursing Assistants: Oversee the day-to-day activities of nursing assistants, ensuring that they are providing excellent care and adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Charting and Documentation: Accurately document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians, ensuring that residents receive the correct medications and dosages.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that residents receive comprehensive care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including developing and implementing care plans, and participating in surveys and inspections.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator, including attending in-service education programs and maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility records.
Requirements:
- Current State License: Possess a current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Excellent Technical Skills: Demonstrate excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Good Leadership Qualities: Exhibit good leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and supervise nursing assistants.
- Organized and Detailed: Be organized and detailed in work performance, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
- Good Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassionate and Caring: Demonstrate a genuine caring and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
