The City of Statesville is seeking a highly skilled Fire Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our citizens by conducting inspections of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings to identify and mitigate fire hazards.

• Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations
• Issue safety hazard notices to occupants and perform follow-up inspections to ensure compliance
• Develop and implement fire education and prevention programs for various groups
• Prepare and distribute fire prevention materials, such as pamphlets and posters
• Attend training classes and schools to stay up-to-date on the latest fire prevention techniques and technologies
• Collaborate with fire personnel to provide training and guidance on inspection practices and fire education
• Prepare reports on inspections and maintain accurate records on occupancies

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Training in fire prevention methods and techniques
• At least six months of experience in the fire service

• Valid North Carolina driver's license or ability to obtain within 60 days

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including extreme heat and cold, and may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
