We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify Patient Identity and Medical History: Ensure accurate patient identification and review medical records to determine the appropriateness of exams or procedures.
- Conduct Diagnostic Ultrasound Exams: Utilize advanced imaging equipment to acquire high-quality images and provide initial observations to radiologists.
- Communicate with Patients and Physicians: Explain procedures, risks, and benefits to patients, and provide post-care instructions as needed.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the radiology team to improve patient flow, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Training required within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
