We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager who will lead our organization's safety strategies and policy formulation. This pivotal position is responsible for fostering a culture of safety throughout our operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local industrial regulations.
The EHS Manager will not only develop and enforce safety protocols but will also contribute significantly to our strategic business planning, particularly in relation to environmental, health, and safety issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, preparing necessary reports and documentation.
- Deliver comprehensive safety training to promote a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Design and manage health and safety programs aimed at safeguarding employees, contractors, and clients.
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Engage in corporate initiatives to reduce accidents and mitigate potential liabilities.
- Gather and report safety performance metrics, including incident rates and leading indicators.
- Perform plant audits to identify risks, oversee safety training, and assess employee exposure levels.
- Effectively manage multiple projects, showcasing strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Conduct facility audits to detect and address potential health and safety hazards, ensuring the implementation of preventive measures.
- Maintain State Drug-Free Certification and provide training for employees on upholding a drug-free workplace.
- Lead investigations into near misses and prepare for investigative procedures.
- Chair the Employee Safety Committee to enhance safety awareness among staff.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management software.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with a commitment to personal and professional development.
- Detail-oriented and dedicated to achieving exceptional results.
