Overview:

The Zoetis NextGen ERP initiative is a comprehensive, long-term project aimed at enhancing our enterprise resource planning systems and refining our operational workflows. The US Indirect Tax Lead will play a pivotal role within the NextGen ERP tax team, reporting directly to the Tax Lead. This position is essential in guiding the project from initial design to final deployment, collaborating closely with the Finance workstream and various departments across Zoetis to achieve a redefined operational framework and technological environment.

This role presents a unique opportunity to significantly impact the successful rollout of SAP S/4HANA, ensuring adherence to tax regulations and smooth incorporation of tax functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the accurate configuration of indirect tax features within the S/4HANA system for the US, ensuring alignment with compliance standards.
  • Oversee the setup and testing of tax-related functionalities within the S/4HANA platform and tax determination solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including finance, technology, and tax departments, to collect requirements and design effective solutions for indirect tax processes within the S/4HANA framework.
  • Work in partnership with Solution Integrator consultants to guarantee compliance with US tax laws and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Offer support and training to end-users during the implementation phase, focusing on indirect tax processes and functionalities within the S/4HANA system as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or tax is required, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in US indirect tax.
  • Knowledge of tax reporting, master data management, and taxability factors in order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes (prior experience with S/4HANA and tax engine implementations is advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of US indirect tax regulations and tax determination systems/processes, with the ability to translate strategies into financial concepts.
  • Capability to analyze complex issues, processes, or procedures and develop standardized, best practice solutions.
  • Experience with SAP systems is essential.
