Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized music therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Provide music therapy sessions to patients in their homes, hospitals, or other care settings
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families
  • Conduct music therapy sessions in a way that is sensitive to the patient's cultural and personal preferences
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • Board Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT)
  • State-specific qualification requirements
  • 2 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a Healthcare setting (for Level II Music Therapist)
  • 5 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a Healthcare setting (for Level III Music Therapist)
