Overview

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality radiographs and delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

This is an ongoing opportunity to work 40 hours per week with varying shifts. We offer a competitive salary and a $10,000 sign-on bonus eligible. If you are passionate about diagnostic imaging and committed to excellence, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Image Acquisition: Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts as specified by physicians. This includes maneuvering portable radiographic equipment in patient care areas and surgery as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment and work areas. Maintain inventory of supplies and identify needs for procedures.
  • Patient Care: Position patients correctly, using immobilization devices when necessary, to ensure optimum film quality. Adhere to radiation safety procedures and verify patient information before each exam.
  • Quality Control: Review radiographs to ensure they meet departmental standards. Report any environmental or equipment issues to relevant personnel.
  • Professional Development: Participate in continuing education and professional growth opportunities to maintain certifications and stay updated on current procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program with a certificate or associate's degree.
  • Certifications: ARRT Registered or registry eligible; IDNS Licensed; Current CPR Certification.
  • Skills: Good communication skills; Basic understanding of RIS and computer knowledge.
Work Environment

This position requires working weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs to accommodate staffing needs. You may be exposed to radiation during procedures and must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. Patient handling equipment is expected to be used for lifts over 35 pounds or when patients cannot assist.
