About the Facility Sanitation Specialist Role:

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas within the facility, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members.

Cleanliness is vital to the Planet Fitness brand and the safety of both our team members and members.

Your Responsibilities Include:


Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all common areas (e.g., restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, Black Card Spa) in accordance with Planet Fitness cleaning standards.

Vacuuming floor surfaces and operating the floor scrubber machine as per the established schedule.

Properly disposing of trash and maintaining cleanliness in trash cans and cleaning stations.

Replenishing supplies and paper products as necessary, while communicating inventory needs to management.

Cleaning and dusting high surfaces (e.g., ceiling fans, TVs, rafters)


Reporting any broken or missing amenities or equipment (e.g., toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment) to management.

Operating washing machines and dryers.

Maintaining cleaning equipment (e.g., cleaning mop buckets, emptying vacuum bags)


Daily tasks may also include: Greeting members/guests as they enter and exit the club; assisting them with any inquiries or concerns.

Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with their questions.

Accurately processing retail transactions and contributing to sales goals.

Addressing member concerns and escalating issues to management as necessary.

Conducting regular walkthroughs of all club areas; promptly addressing any safety or cleanliness issues.

Qualifications:
Experience in cleaning and sanitizing is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness).

Basic computer skills required.

Physical Demands of the Facility Sanitation Specialist:
Continuous standing and movement throughout the facility to complete tasks during shifts.

Regular communication in person or on the phone to exchange information during shifts.

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals during shifts.

Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.

Ability to move in various positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
