Role Overview:

As a Systems Administrator, you will work closely with both on-site and remote users to coordinate site visits and upgrades, provide on-site and remote resolution support for trouble calls, and deliver TIER 2/3 support for Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including web servers and network-attached storage devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks, including account monitoring and security.
  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Facilitate the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain network components, enhancing reliability and performance.
  • Conduct software installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with policies and service level agreements.
  • Maintain and manage multiple linked databases, focusing on security and data integrity.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment.
  • Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance with impacted customers.
  • Collaborate on the development and testing of backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure systems adhere to security guidelines.
  • Maintain operational and configuration standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify system availability using existing enterprise tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administration.
  • Familiarity with trouble reporting and tracking systems.
  • Ability to respond to after-hours calls and provide on-call support.
  • Willingness to travel 0-20% to local area sites.
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in high-pressure environments.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must be able to lift/move/carry equipment as necessary (max 40 pounds).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the imagery intelligence domain.
  • Ability to create and modify scripts across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of customer processes and production systems.
  • General knowledge of database and network administration.
  • Must possess a valid US passport.
