Job Overview:
San José State University (SJSU) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a pool of part-time lecturer positions in the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department. The department offers a variety of degrees, including Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Teach student-centered classes, collaborate on assessments, and maintain office hours.
- Participate in peer reviews and seek guidance from the Department Chair on academic aspects.
- Demonstrate awareness and cater to the needs of a diverse student population.
- Organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System.
- Ensure classes are offered as scheduled throughout the semester.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering or related field for teaching lower division courses.
- Master's degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering or related field for teaching upper division undergraduate and graduate courses.

Compensation:
Salary placement based on qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring ranges:
L-A / Range 2 - $5007 - $5675
L-B / Range 3 - $5925 - $7125
L-C / Range 4 - $6500 - $8982
L-D / Range 5 - $8184 - $9854
Monthly salary rates for full-time AY faculty with prorated rates for part-time. Refer to the Faculty Salary Schedule for detailed information.
