Key Responsibilities
  • Experience Requirement: A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in adult echocardiogram sonography is essential.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Responsible for performing cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations, providing cardiologists with precise measurements and high-quality images of cardiac structures to facilitate accurate diagnoses.
  • Immediate Reporting: Delivering preliminary reports of critical findings to nursing and medical staff is vital for timely and life-saving interventions.
  • Assisting Procedures: Support physicians during complex procedures, minimizing potential risks associated with interventions such as TAVR, SAVR, and other cardiac procedures.
  • Safety Considerations: This role is classified as safety-sensitive, adhering to regulations that govern the use of medical marijuana in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • Certifications: Candidates must possess BLS (AHA) certification and either a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Epic software is advantageous.
