Chemical Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Chemist 1 to join our Quality Control (QC) Laboratory team at Actalent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including logging in samples, preparing equipment and supplies, conducting chemical tests, and maintaining accurate records.

• Log in samples, noting date, time, and tests to be performed
• Prepare necessary equipment and organize supplies and reagents
• Prepare samples for testing by diluting, filtering, centrifuging, digesting
• Perform standard chemical tests, requiring standard interpretation and correlation with other information
• Run quality control samples with known values, to determine if procedures and results are within acceptable limits
• Collect or assist in collecting samples for analysis

• Enter results of test in appropriate log or specification sheet
• Complete appropriate test result form and notify supervisor in cases of significant test findings
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records detailing quality control procedures used and results for all tests

• Perform routine calibration and minor maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Inform supervisor of inventory and supply needs
• Keep current in field by reading literature and attending symposiums and workshops
• Maintain knowledge and compliance with GMP operations
