Job Overview

Gold Star Foods is a leading food distributor to K-12 schools in the United States, committed to delivering exceptional customer service. As a critical support role for the Transportation Team, the Driver will transport goods to routes in a commercial vehicle, making deliveries and pickups to and from school sites and warehouses, while communicating with management and dispatchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring efficient and safe handling.
  • Read locations and road maps, utilizing navigation skills to optimize routes.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance, inspecting vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after each trip.
  • Meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe work practices, tracking and documenting driving logs on an ELD.
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Inspect truck before and after trip, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic, adhering to company values and expectations.
  • Other duties as requested by management.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in truck driving or related fields.
  • Commercial Driver's License, DOT Medical Certificate, and Motor Vehicle Record (10 years of history).
  • Ability to handle physical workload, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Commercial Driver's License, DOT Medical Certificate, and Motor Vehicle Record (10 years of history).
  • 10-year DMV driving record history dated no later than 30 days with no more than 2 points.
  • Touch-freight required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Pass a DOJ and criminal background check.
  • Speak and Read English satisfactorily to converse with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
  • Is not disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under rules in 49 CFR 391.15.
