Job Summary

TAMKO is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Technician/Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with plant equipment and machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including cutting and welding metal materials.
  • Inspect and maintain plant equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and rolling stock.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and manuals to ensure accurate repairs and maintenance.
  • Operate forklift trucks and other heavy equipment as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing maintenance projects.
  • Direct and supervise other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform environmental inspections and calibrations as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools, drills, grinders, impact wrenches, saws, welders, and other plant equipment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
  • Successful completion of general mechanical skills testing required.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts for additional compensation preferred.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is regularly required to position himself/herself to inspect, operate, and/or maintain heavy plant equipment.
  • The employee must be able to inspect equipment and detect equipment malfunctions.
  • The employee is regularly required to move around the plant and office floors, as well as remain in stationary positions while operating or maintaining equipment.
