We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and eager to develop within our organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive attitude and be a collaborative team member.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are essential and may be supplemented:
- Conduct maintenance and repair on various heavy machinery, including but not limited to bulldozers, cranes, excavators, and heavy-duty trucks.
- Diagnose, service, and repair multiple systems found in heavy equipment, such as hydraulic systems, mechanical controls, and air brake systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Service and repair track drive components, hydraulic systems, and transmissions.
- Perform routine maintenance checks, including fluid levels, hoses, belts, and brakes; change filters and lubricate machinery.
- Overhaul engines and rebuild components as required.
- Maintain service logs and records of maintenance activities using fleet management software.
- Prepare work orders and estimate material costs.
- Ensure tools and work areas are clean, organized, and in optimal working condition.
- May assist in training junior mechanics in repair techniques.
- Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Associate's degree in Heavy Duty Equipment Repair preferred.
- Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics is a plus.
- Experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks, including lifting and manual dexterity.
- Work environment may vary from climate-controlled offices to open garages with fluctuating temperatures.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
Additional Information: Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical examination. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
