Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Magnetic Technologies Corporation.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include setting up and operating Multi-Axis CNC Lathes and Mills, maintaining production efficiencies and part quality.

Main Duties:

  1. Setup, operate, and debug CNC Lathes and Mill equipment.
  2. Make machine tool offsets as needed to ensure part quality.
  3. Perform minor program changes to NC code when necessary.
  4. Identify signs of tool wear and make the appropriate process or tool change(s).
  5. Read process sheets and mechanical drawings with an understanding of GD&T.
  6. Work on multiple machines and perform multiple tasks throughout the day.
  7. Use general measuring instruments such as indicators, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, rules, protractor, and height gauges.
  8. Enter inspection data into a computer software program.
  9. Perform basic machine maintenance, including changing fluids and filters.
  10. Maintain a clean work environment and machine work area.
  11. Follow company-written policy and documented procedures.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • A High School Diploma or Technical Training Certificate.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience setting up and running CNC Lathes and Mills.
  • Technical training college with a focus on CNC setups and operation or similar apprenticeship training.
  • The ability to read blueprints and knowledge of GD&T is essential.
  • An understanding of both the Metric and English measuring systems is also required.
  • Ability to use various measuring equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and exotic materials/high temperature alloys.
  • Ability to write and edit NC programs with an understanding of cutting parameters.
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Mori Seiki, MAPPS-4, Mazak, Mazatrol, and Mastercam is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective teamwork and collaboration.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a production environment, which involves exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives, and other chemicals. All safety precautions will be used to ensure a safe working environment.

The job also requires some independent actions and/or decisions, as well as occasional repetitive motion.

Physical Requirements

This role involves periodic lifting of materials and parts weighing up to 70 pounds, as well as intermittent long periods of sitting and standing.
