Assistant Director of Nursing

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at the Montana Mental Health and Nursing Care Center.

The Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) in Lewistown is a licensed residential facility providing long-term care and treatment for individuals with mental disorders and physical health issues.

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for supervising nursing staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role will also involve planning, coordinating, and managing the physical health care needs of patients and staff.

In the absence of the Director of Nursing Services, this position will serve as the acting Director of Nursing Services, addressing a wide range of operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for nursing services
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff
  • Plan and coordinate physical health care needs of patients and staff
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Act as the Director of Nursing Services in the absence of the Director

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field
  • Three years of job-related experience, including two years of supervisory experience
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana
