About the Role

As a Laboratory Scientist at University Health, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of patients.

The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various laboratory procedures for testing or analysis on specimens submitted to the laboratory.
  • Evaluate test results for accuracy and submit results to physicians for diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of patients.
  • Maintain complicated instruments and perform assigned duties rapidly and accurately.

Education and Certification

To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Alternatively, education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology may be considered, provided supported by an accrediting agency. High school graduates or equivalents with military training as a medical laboratory specialist may also be considered.

Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required. The ability to maintain certification status in compliance with specifications for continuing education required by the certification agency is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
