Construction Financial Analyst

NorthPoint Search Group Inc is seeking to expand its accounting team by adding a Construction Project Accountant. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in construction financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the processing, evaluation, tracking, and maintenance of all payment applications from subcontractors, as well as accounts payable for purchase orders and miscellaneous accounts payable across various projects.
- Support management in profitability forecasting, manage Work In Process reporting and projections, and analyze project discrepancies.
- Handle job cost accounting, including budget oversight, change order tracking, committed cost management, and job cost reallocations.
- Facilitate project billing, owner payment applications, and project budgeting.
- Engage with project managers, vendors, and external stakeholders to manage draw requests and requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, senior management, and contract administrators on all facets of construction accounting.
- Manage the complete cycle of Accounts Payable, which includes data entry, check run selection, audit confirmations, vendor statement reviews, and annual 1099 filings.
- Ensure accounts payable is accurately coded to the appropriate GL account number, job number, and cost code, subsequently distributing to the Project Management team for approval.
- Generate lien waivers, verify subcontractor insurance, maintain subcontractor business licenses, and update W-9 forms for vendors.
- Prepare monthly projection reports or other necessary reports (e.g., open payables, job costs, etc.).
- Assist in the creation of new systems and processes for the department.
- Track and update various logs (e.g., utilities, lumber, appliances, and others as needed).
- Minimum of three years of project accounting experience within the construction sector is required.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Must be a collaborative team player.
- Capability to take initiative in developing new processes.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational abilities, and follow-up skills.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in data entry.
- Experience with Vista and Procore Software is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
