Make a Difference in the Lives of Children and Adolescents

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Vocational Teacher/Vocational Educator (grades 9-12) to join our Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health team at The Glenholme School. As a member of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to make a life-saving difference for children and adolescents with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, occupational/speech therapists, social workers, nursing, behavior specialists, and school leaders to provide comprehensive support to students and teachers
  • Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) campus approaches with a high level of fidelity
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for student learning through the utilization of social emotional learning
  • Participate in a reflective professional development process to enhance instructional practices
Qualifications:
  • Three years related work experience or one year related work experience and two years of specialized schooling
  • A letter from your current and/or previous employer verifying your experience in this career
  • High School Graduate
  • Six credits in professional education from a regionally accredited college or university (Devereux will assist you with this)
  • At least 36 clock hours in special education studies, including understanding the growth and development of exceptional children and methods for identifying, planning for, and working effectively with them in the regular classroom (Devereux will also assist you with this)
