Recreation Specialist II

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Specialist to join our team at the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. As a Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Plan and implement recreational programs to meet the needs and abilities of residents.
  
• Coordinate on- and off-campus outings and ensure the health and safety of each consumer.
  
• Requisition and maintain appropriate supplies and equipment.
  
• Provide direct hands-on individual care to consumers as needed.
  

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, or a related field may be substituted for work experience. You will also need knowledge of various recreational activities and the ability to communicate effectively.
