Job Summary

The NICU Transport Nurse will provide safe and effective inter-hospital transport of a wide variety of pediatric patients. This role requires a strong foundation in pediatric critical care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and stabilize patients during transport, utilizing advanced critical care skills and knowledge of pediatric physiology.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient, taking into account their unique needs and medical history.
  • Collaborate with the Neonatal Transport Team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Provide education and support to families and caregivers, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • 3 years of progressive nursing experience, with a focus on pediatric critical care.
  • 2 years of experience in neonatal critical care, pediatric critical care, or pediatric emergency care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to perform accurate medication dosing calculations under time-sensitive situations.
  • Current certification in Neonatal Nursing (NNP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent travel between hospitals and healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based environment, with a strong focus on patient safety and quality care.
