POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team, the Senior Surgical Technologist is accountable for the management of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment essential for general to moderately complex surgical operations.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the surgical procedures being executed and the ability to anticipate the requirements of the assigned surgeon and surgical team members.

Additionally, the position involves providing support related to patient preparation, transportation, and assisting the surgical care team with specific patient care responsibilities to ensure safety and comfort.

The technologist must respond to urgent situations in accordance with established protocols.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is mandatory.

A graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program is essential.

Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR) is required, along with familiarity with surgical practices and techniques for providing patient care and assisting surgeons in the O.R.


CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Current BLS certification is required or must be obtained within one month of the start date.


Surgical Technologist certification is necessary, or 3-5 years of experience in supporting complex high-acuity surgical cases may be accepted in lieu of certification.

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardio Vascular Surgical Technologist is preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
