Job Overview

Staff Today Inc is seeking a dedicated Exceptional Needs Educator to become a vital part of our team. This role is essential in providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning requirements.

Compensation: $60 / hour

Work Schedule:

  • 8am-3:30 pm

Position Highlights:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Exceptional Needs Educator who specializes in assisting students with moderate to severe disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to create a nurturing and inclusive educational atmosphere that promotes both academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with significant disabilities.
  • Deliver direct instruction across various subjects, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Employ a range of instructional methods, including visual supports, assistive technologies, and multisensory techniques to enhance learning experiences.
  • Continuously evaluate student progress and adjust teaching approaches as necessary.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to develop and implement effective strategies that support student achievement.
  • Observe student behavior and provide appropriate behavior management techniques when needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages respect, acceptance, and teamwork among students.
  • Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, objectives, and support strategies.
  • Engage in professional development through staff meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and legal standards in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
  • Possess a valid California Teaching Credential in Special Education.
  • Proven experience working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with special needs.
  • Ability to modify teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual student requirements.
  • Proficient in utilizing assistive technology and other educational tools to facilitate learning.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
