Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Store Environment Team Member to join our team at Michaels Stores. As a Store Environment Team Member, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, and emptying trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store and find what they're looking for, and provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures, and move equipment and products for proper cleaning and placement.
  • Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment, and maintain positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high-traffic areas, to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time, move throughout the store, and lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment
  • Public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate-controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.
  • Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.
